SUBJECT + VERB AGREEMENT

Untuk kalimat yang diawali “ Each / Every “ diikuti dengan “ Singular Noun “ lalu “ Singular Verb “.
Each/Every + Singular Noun + Singular Verb
·         each book at the library is listed
(book  = singular noun, is = to be ) 
·        every women, man, child needs refreshing
(women, man, child = sungular noun, needs = singular verb )
Jika tidak ada “Verb” maka diganti dengan “ to be”

PREPOSITIONAL PHRASE
Prepositional phrase, atau frasa preposisi adalah frasa yang terdiri dari preposisi dan objek preposisi. Objek preposisi dalam frasa preposisi dapat berupa noun, pronoun, atau non phrase.
Dalam kalimat terdiri subject + prepositional phrase verb dari kalimat tersebut lihat dari subjeknya.

·         the historical book on that table is interesting.
(The historical = Singular Subject, is = Singular Verb )
·         The leather jackets on the cabinets are mine. 
(the leather jackets = Plural Subject, are = Plural Verb )

GERUND
Gerund phrases adalah frase yang terdiri dari gerund ditambah dengan objek dan/atau modifier. Seperti halnya gerund, gerund phrase juga berperan sebagai nomina dalam kalimat.
Dalam membuat kalimatnya  bila Subject Gerund (Verb ing) maka verbnya harus singular. 

·         Your singing is very beautiful.
(Singing  = gerund, is = singular verb )
·         Playing basket is healthy
(Playing = gerund, is = singular verb )

Jika diikuti “Singular Noun”, maka Verb-nya  Singular .
Jika diikuti “Plural Noun”, maka Verb-nya Plural.

(parents  = Singular Noun, is = Singular Verb )
·         Some of car in the show room is luxury
(some of = Plural Noun, is  = Plural Verb )
